The Restyle Lane
What is so wrong with wearing clothes that are old and last season? We can always reinvent them or style them differently. Just because they were last season, doesn't mean you just discard it. After I saw a recent video on how harmful the microfibers in our clothes are, I have decided to cut down on shopping clothes. Although I am not in any position to advice on you how good this is to the environment, I can do my bit by giving you ideas on how to keep you from throwing away clothes :) PS, I am a shopaholic.
In this blog post all the clothes, I have worn clothes that are at least 5 years old. I am wearing a long white shirt top which has slits on the side. I normally wear it as a kurta with my jeans. This is something I would store for a lifetime. This skirt is a hand embroidered mini skirt which is so last season, or wait a few seasons before that! But I think it is one of a kind. Also, it weighs like a 100 kgs! But I love it so much, that I could literally frame this if I stop wearing this. I got this skirt from Allsaints. It was extravagantly priced, But I got it for a bargain during the sale. But I have been figuring out ways to wear it normally since it is extremely short as well. I think a boyfriend shirt under this skirt looks just right. What do you guys think?
I have also used age old accessories to style this look. I have used all the bronze-y accessories from the closet which are, again, at least 5 years old. I have used the heart shaped earrings as a button to my shirt. This earring is a buy from Mango. The leather-pearl necklace is a piece from the Lanvin x H&M designer collection. This accessory looks extremely hot with leather pants. I am wearing Rayban shades(lens have been changed).
I decided to go for neutral makeup. The main element being used is The Dolce Vita eyeshadow palette by Charlotte Tilbury. I have used brown liner by Sephora to line my eyes. The highlighter is poppin! I used the Prosecco Pop highlighter by Becca over a layer of vaseline which intensifies my highlighter. This is my highlighter game for an intense glow! Prosecco Pop looks like it is made for us Indian Women, a glow-y golden which does nothing but impress.
You can wear this outfit for a glamorous day event. You can also convert this into an ethnic outfit by wearing pretty stilettos and a matching embroidered clutch. Let me know what you think about this outfit. I would love to hear your opinion. Thank you for reading my post. Will be back next week with a simple and pleasant one. Until then, stay stylish.

Pav

ReplyDeleteThat's a gorgeous skirt!
ReplyDeleteThe use of that skirt though!! Very innovative. I love reusing clothes as well. I think that;s why I have one section on the blog dedicated to styling one item in multiple ways.
