The Flower Girl
Hello lovers! How have y'all been doing? I just received these bright and lively pictures from Rakshith and it has gotten me all cheery. So here I am, doing the unconventional in this post.
Mustard is not the first thing that comes to my mind when I think of the colors I like. And so it happens that I was breezing through Global Desi to check out their new collection and my eyes spotted this beautiful mustard dotted kurta with a red motif in the pocket. A simple daily wear kurta and who knew it would go so well with my extreme glitter skirt from TopShop. Made with crushed cotton, this fabric is crumple-free too. For some reason, the skirt looks really mellow when paired with this top.
I accessorized this look with Indian jewelry. I was trying to live up to the title of my blog post. A true Indian flower girl. Flower girls don't really wear fancy shoes, but I suppose they wear jewelry and sunnies 😜 As you guys would have noticed in the previous blog posts, the jhumka is a buy from Amrapali. Although I love Amrapali, I must tell you that the customer service policies are not the best. For some reason when I was trying to pull off the screw, the stick came off and when I walked into the store to get it fixed, they weren't courteous and in fact told me that it is not up to them to fix it. But after a bit of a word spatter, they decided to get it fixed but for an extra cost. I do not understand why do I have to pay extra when I have not mishandled the jewelry but the piece itself was too delicate to handle the unscrewing. Ok moving on, I am wearing 2 rings which are a part of a ring set purchased at Forever 21. The basket Bag is from H&M but it is sold out. Luckily, I found this really great Indian handloom site which sells similar bags here.
Face : A simple smudged eyeliner all around the eye defined this look. I normally never wear eyeliner in my lower lash line but this time I went all out. However, I had a tough time to remove it all later which gets me back to the reason why I stopped applying kajal below the eyes in the first place. Super thick eyebrows completed this look. I used my Sephora brow kit to fill in the eyebrows and draw that extra line below the original. I am wearing the Trophy Wife - HudaBeauty lip contour.
