Diwali 2016



Happy Diwali you guys! Hope this Diwali blesses you with all the happiness and prosperity that gets you through the year. Also, please don't forget about animal safety while bursting loud firecrackers. Animals hear sounds 10 times louder than a normal human beings do so imagine what they go through. Stay safe and enjoy this beautiful festival. On a lighter note, I decided to make a blogpost themed according to the colors of light on the occasion of Diwali. Hope you guys like it.

For this look, I have chosen a Kota silk sari from Zari Couture, Mangalore and a sari blouse with a matching Chudidar Pant. Start by pleating the sari and tucking it into your pant (instead of wrapping the sari around you in the beginning itself). Following this, loosely wind yourself around the sari making dhoti like folds and get the sari to the front . Now, hold the pallu by the edges making broad plears, make sure the pallu is long enough. After this is done, wrap the sari around the neck like how you fold a ribbon. You can twist the sari behind the neck to reduce the volume. Finally, get to the front crossing over the previous layer. Make sure the edge of the pallu falls in the front. Complete this look with a nice thick belt.

The face involved a lot of strobing. I used the Bobbi Brown Shimmer Brick in Bronze to achieve this. Before using the blush, I added a tinge of color on my cheeks by mixing a red blush and a pink blush. I wore the red behind the cheeks close to temples. The highly pigmented rasberry pink blush is a Sephora Shade : 17 (Hey jealousy). The red blush is a Mac (Shade : Apple Red). Other details include a Mac Satin Lipstick in the shade : Full Fuchsia worn over the pinky-red Diorific lipstick in the shade: Marilyn just to give a darker finish to the lipstick.
