The Enchanted Eve : A Valentine's Day Post

Happy Valentine's Day everyone! I'm not a preacher of love but sure do have a few ideas on how to dress up on your big date.
Not the biggest fan of red dresses, but I couldn't think of a better color to go with today's theme. This dress is from the SCULPT collection By Gaurav Gupta which showcased in the finale of Lakme Fashion Week Autumn Winter 2015. I picked this beautiful piece from the Multi Designer Boutique, Eveluzione, Chennai. Gaurav Gupta is the God of drapes and asymmetrical structured gowns. There can be no other who an excel in thie fortĂ©.  The one-shouldered asymmetrical dress worn here has multiple structural lines and folds starting from the shoulders which is his trademark style. Wearing a Gaurav Gupta ensemble somehow makes me feel indestructible. I always associated GG gowns to my favorite Goddess BeyoncĂ©. It would be a delight to see her dressed in one of his opulent gowns.

This a zero accessory look. According to me, accessories overpower the look unless you are accessorising with a dainty bracelet, studs or a ring. There is already a lot of drama going around the dress and the smokey eyes, so a piece of statement jewellery would have been a big no no.
I used the Mac Enchanted Eve collection pallette to on my eyes. The smokey eyes were base coated with a silver eye-shadow. I shaded the entire eye socket with the Dangerous Cuvee Paint Pot from the same collection. I blended black eyeshadow in place of liner for a subtle effect. One thing I didn't like about the Mac paint pot is that the texture is not suitable for blending with brushes and it doesn't go smoothly over powder eye shadows. So the best way would be using your fingertips, the heat under your skin would help in melting the color into your skin evenly. This time, I also experimented the look with the infamous white liner from Lakme Eyeconic collection on the waterline. And it is true, your eyes look brighter. This is the best fix when you are heading out after a long tiring day. The look was completed with the Mac Falsies Mascara, again from the Enchanted Eve Range. Even with my unbelievably bad mascara skills, the lashes looked exceptionally longer. The best part about the mascara is that it is easily washable and you won't end up with racoon eyes.
